There once was a young king. Every week, the people would bring him entertainments. Some he would love, some he would hate. One day, a peasant brings in the game “Chess”. The young king was absolutely fascinated by this game, so he decides that he wants to meet the peasant that presented this game to him. Upon the greeting, the king conversed with the peasant and thanked the peasant for introducing to him to such a fascinating game. The king then said, “If you ever need anything, just tell me.”. So then the peasant said that he wanted grain (wheat). For every square on the chessboard, he wanted the amount of grain multiplied by itself to the previous square (1x2=2, 2x2=4, 4x4=16). The king then agreed and told his servants to go fetch the grain. To the king’s demise, the king gave out all his grain before he knew it. The king’s counselor then told him that the amount of grain the peasant wanted could feed the world. Now the king was left with not enough grain to feed his people,and he was overthrown. The peasant then was dubbed the king.
